On June 2nd, exactly 60 years will have passed since Elizabeth II was crowned Queen. To mark such an exceptional date, many events have been planned across the Commonwealth countries throughout the year. And mugs, LOTS of mugs have been produced! My favourite of all is this one by Emma Bridgewater, though more jubilee goodies can be found here:
Founded in 1985, Emma Bridgewater is a ceramics manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent. Its most distinct features would be the type used in all the pots (all of it being done by hand) and its polka dot design.
I am no Emma Bridgewater but in homage to her, I decorated my latest wide bowl, which combines her polka dots and my love for all things architecture. Apologies for the rather lousy photograph!
NOTE: The images of the Emma Bridgewater mugs are from the official site, and that of the Diamond Jubilee logo is from Wikipedia.
